QMHW 2024: Greenslopes Community Day

A Heartfelt Mental Health Day 2024 Celebration

On Mental Health Day 2024, Greenslopes House Supported Accommodation, in collaboration with Supported Care Mental Health NDIS Support Services, proudly opened its doors to the local community for a day of connection, engagement, and awareness. It was a fantastic opportunity for us to introduce our Mental Health Hub (Home), where residents and staff gathered with the wider community to share our mission, vision, and values.

The local community had long been curious about Greenslopes House, and this event was the perfect platform to bridge the gap. We welcomed everyone with a warm lunch, offering a chance for residents and community members alike to meet and speak with the owners and directors of the unit. This personal interaction created an open and supportive atmosphere, allowing our visitors to understand the vital services we provide, while our residents felt more at ease seeing the genuine care and dedication behind the operations.

The day’s highlights were the various engaging activities that brought our residents and community together in fun and camaraderie. Art and craft sessions sparked creativity, a pool tournament brought out some friendly competition, and bingo drew enthusiastic participants of all ages. These activities, specially curated for our residents, were an absolute hit, ensuring that everyone had a fantastic time.

As the day came to a close, it was clear that Mental Health Day 2024 had not only provided entertainment but had also deepened the sense of connection and belonging within our community. We are proud to have hosted such a meaningful event, leaving our 65+ residents with memories of joy, support, and togetherness.

At Greenslopes House, we are more than just a supported accommodation facility, we are a community committed to mental health, well-being, and empowerment.
